Rob was born in Adelaide, South Australia, and has lived there ever since. He has a wife and three teenage children. For the past 14 years they have lived about thirty minutes' drive from Adelaide in the Adelaide Hills - probably the best spot on the planet, on a small 'farm' of a few acres which consistently fails to generate any income. Rob's main job has always been teaching. For the past 4 years he has taught drama and music exclusively - possibly the most productive and enjoyable years of my career so far. He is also into jazz , plays a bit of bass and acoustic guitar and amateur theatre, makes wine. He has written poems & short stories for years, but my poetry earns me even less than my farm - Rob also says Writing is a bit of a compulsion - I would continue to scribble away in the nearest available exercise book for my own sanity. I tend to use rhyme for humorous themes, but can only do justice to serious topics in my own forms of free verse. There are many who can tackle weighty subjects in rhyming couplets, but I'm not one of them. For me, writing in rhyme seems to trivialise what's important. In the past, periods of anxiety or depression have produced some very creative work for me, but I didn't care for the side-effects. My current project is to be Creative and Happy simultaneously!
